Although fans of the MCU are no strangers to post-credits scenes, DC is certainly one to experiment a lot with its formula. We are yet to submerge ourselves in the vastness of Atlantis and Aquaman already seems to bandwagon on including post-credits scenes.

According to an exclusive insight from Discussing Film, Aquaman, alongside Godzilla: King of Monsters, will feature a post-credits scene.

From our sources, we can confirm that Warner Bros’ next DC film, Aquaman, which will splash into cinemas on December 21st, will currently include a post credits scene featuring Randall Park’s Dr. Stephen Shin and Yahya Abdul Mateen II’s Black Manta and setting up Black Manta for a larger villainous role in potential Aquaman sequels.

DC already has played with this formula beginning with Suicide Squad, in which we see the famous billionaire playboy make a deal with Amanda Waller. The scene hints at the team-up of the big DC seven heroes (well, six). Fans were treated with this team-up a year later, with another post-credits scene that hints at the formation of the infamous, Injustice League. While neither film held up to be a big critical success, it did give us the debut of the king of Atlantis, whose film is set to release this year.

Black Manta made his debut in the Aquaman comics in issue #35, developing to be the archnemesis of Arthur Curry. Just like his comic book counterpart, Black Manta will develop his own costume in order to battle Aquaman himself. This movie, however, will center around Arthur’s half-brother, Ocean Master as the main villain and a trailer has been debuted recently during SDCC.

The movie debuts December 21st of this year with Shazam following its trail until April 5 of 2019. While there has not been any official online footage released yet, the sequel to Wonder Woman is expected to release also in 2019.
