After months of rumors, Brad Pitt’s daughter, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, has officially dropped the name of her famous father. Shiloh, who is 18 years old, has been trying to change her name for a while now after years of family drama surrounding Brad Pitt. After the judge signed off on the name change on Monday, Shiloh’s last name was changed from Jolie-Pitt to just Jolie. How will this affect her father?
Page Six reports that part of the legal process to change a name in California is to announce the petition in the newspaper. Therefore, Shiloh published her petition in the Los Angeles Times. Brad Pitt’s daughter was originally supposed to have her hearing back in July. However, it was postponed due to the fact the court did not complete the necessary background check in time.
Shiloh Has Dropped Brad Pitt’s Name
“This is normal. Everyone undergoing a name-change request needs to have a background check conducted by the court clerk, and because of clerical error, Shiloh’s hearing has been continued to a new date,” Shiloh’s attorney, Peter Levine, told Page Six in a statement.
After his divorce from Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt lost almost all contact with their children. However, he does still have visitation with the younger ones. As for the older ones, though, he has almost zero contact. Brad has spoken of his regrets about how everything turned out. The actor seems to have wished he had done things differently.
Pitt is also rumored to want another child. However, it would be with his current girlfriend, Ines De Ramon. Pitt and Ramon seem to be in a very happy relationship and are seen in public together often.
Shiloh’s name change most likely hurts Brad Pitt deeply. He has lost his children, and their relationship seems to be beyond repair. However, Pitt still has a job to do as he prepares for his new F1 film. However, his children are most likely on his mind.
