Racism doesn’t always show up as a slur. Sometimes it’s just someone deciding a Black family at the pool is their business to police. A video out of Connecticut is being called exactly that: an older man repeatedly closing in on a Black father and his kids as they tried to enjoy a swim.

This old racist drunk man saw a black man at the pool with his kids so he walked over & introduced himself & started harassing him.He started making fun of his appearance & getting in his face numerous times almost touching him.He continued to try & intimidate him till booted out pic.twitter.com/4InqRvfj6A

The video was initially shared on TikTok and picked up by an X user @Suzierizzo1. Per the caption and hashtag details, the confrontation occurred at a public pool in Stamford, Connecticut. The video shows an older white man allegedly harassing a Black father in front of his children.

According to the X video’s caption, the older man approached the father and his children without being provoked. The person who shared the footage claimed the man mocked the father’s appearance, repeatedly got close to him, and continued confronting him despite being asked to stop.

The caption also alleges that pool staff eventually removed the older man from the area because of his intimidating behavior.

The video captures the father repeatedly telling the man to back away, saying, “Get the *expletive* out of my face. You’re in my face, and you harass me. I don’t *expletive* want to talk to you.”

As the confrontation continues, he warns, “If you keep on, in front of children, they’re gonna get dealt with in court.” The older man can also be heard hurling insults, including calling the father a homophobic slur, while the tense exchange unfolds in front of families at the pool.

The incident drew widespread criticism on social media, where many users condemned the man’s conduct and urged people to avoid confrontational behavior in shared public spaces.

Several commenters also speculated that he appeared intoxicated, though that has not been independently verified.

Internet Reacts to Connecticut Pool Confrontation

One commenter wrote, “Trump opened the damn the floodgates of hate and stupidity.” Another made a similar point, writing, “This is trump’s amerikkka where racist POS feel emboldened to spew hate and ignorance.”

A third offered a more personal theory, saying, “Another old *expletive* that sits home and gets gassed up by watching Fox News all day, and then goes out to try it out.”

Others focused on the man’s demeanor rather than politics. One person wrote, “The president and his boot lickers have made people like this potato faced alcoholic very bold with their hate and racism against black people.”

A separate commenter took a more measured tone, writing, “Not as intimidating as he is aggravating. Lucky for him the other man is being tolerant and not kicking his *expletive*.”

The video from Connecticut is the latest in a growing number of public confrontations that have gone viral on social media in recent years. While each case is different, videos filmed by bystanders often spread online before authorities release official findings.

Separately, FBI data shows that hate crimes remain a nationwide concern. The agency recorded 11,679 hate crime incidents in 2024. More than half of the victims in single-bias incidents were targeted because of their race, ethnicity, or ancestry, with anti-Black bias being the most commonly reported racial motivation.
