A North Carolina U.S. Marine veteran took to TikTok to share a disturbing interaction he had with a pair of Trump supporters outside Cornelius Town Hall.
TikTok user J0nsk3y (Keith Jones) posted the video, which shows both MAGA supporters heckling him. “Why don’t you go back up north? We don’t need you people around here. Frickin’ hippie,” the man with the Trump hat says.
Keith reveals he’s actually from Georgia and asks where the man is from; he says he’s from South Carolina. “Oh so you’re not from around here either,” Keith fires back.
The two Trump supporters then try to shame and talk down to Keith. “He’s never done a damn thing in his life. This is your career, isn’t it?” the lady asks. She claims she’s worked in education for “30 years,” and condescendingly asks, “What have you done?”
Keith then reveals he was in the U.S. Marines, which the Trump supporters scoff at. As they leave, Keith mocks the elderly man, who turns around and says, “You can go out in the street if you like.”
“We’re in the streets right here, man,” Keith says. The Trump voter tries to make a silly point that they aren’t directly in the street. “What’s wrong with five feet that way versus here. You scared or something?” They both scoff again, with the lady insisting, “I could take you.”
The three taunt each other some more before the Trump voters start to leave. Keith takes one last dig at them, calling them out for voting for President Trump, whom he called a “traitor.”
Commenters react to Keith’s TikTok video
After the three-way exchange, numerous TikTok users joined Keith in making fun of Trump supporters. “That Veteran card gonna shut em up every timeðŸ˜,” one of the top comments reads.
Other commenters dragged the lady for her supposed service in education. “Notice she did NOT say she was a teacher. Working in education is NOT the same as being a teacher,” a viewer pointed. “I’m a teacher; we don’t claim her,” said another.
One viewer found it funny that once Keith squared up against their threat to fight him, they didn’t follow through: “‘I can take you’ and didn’t step 1 inch closer.”
In the caption of Keith’s video, he claims the couple also called the police. After speaking with an officer, he wrote, “…They confirmed I was exercising my constitutionally protected rights.” His video continues to gain traction online, with over 360,000 Likes and nearly 8,000 comments.
