Sean Diddy Combs‘ nightmare continues as he is placed on suicide watch at the Metropolitan Detention Center. On Monday, Diddy’s months-long criminal case reached a significant point as the rapper got arrested following a jury indictment. The indictment highlighted the rapper’s involvement in sex trafficking, kidnapping, bribery, arson, forced labor, transportation for the purpose of prostitution, obstruction of justice, and drug offenses directly or indirectly. Following his Tuesday court appearance where he pleaded “not guilty,” US Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky ordered his detention at the Metropolitan Detention Center, without bail.
Since then, Diddy’s legal team has attempted to secure him bail, to no avail. After repeated bail denials, the team, led by attorney Marc Agnifilo tried to secure his transfer to a less “brutal” facility in New Jersey. While that appeal remains under review, authorities are making proactive efforts to ensure the disgraced rapper’s continuous availability throughout his trial period. Among these steps is their decision to place Diddy on suicide watch.
Diddy’s team Believes Suicide Watch Is Unnecessary
Officials of the Metropolitan Detention Center in Lower Manhattan issued a directive to have the rapper under suicide watch, an arrangement neither Diddy nor his legal team favors. Attorney March Agnifilo, representing Diddy, kicked against the facility’s decision while speaking with TMZ, telling the outlet that his client was “not at all suicidal.”
He admittedly spent up to 6 hours with Diddy on Thursday, and the rap mogul exhibited “strong, healthy, and confident” energy. Above all, the star remained focused on his defense despite the circumstances.
Despite his disapproval of Diddy’s suicide watch, Marc Agnifilo understood the decision was simply a “routine” directive for new inmates with celebrity status. Meanwhile, criminal investigations into the music mogul’s sex trafficking and racketeering case continue. So far, the feds have unraveled solid evidence implicating Diddy in the ongoing case. According to the three-count federal indictment read on Tuesday, Diddy relied on employees, resources, and influence of his vast business empire to engage in several criminal offenses summed up as sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
The indictment also highlighted the questionable items confiscated during the raids of Diddy’s LA and Miami homes back in March. These items, taken into evidence include thousands of containers of baby oils and lubes, ammunition with altered serial numbers, disturbing video records, and illicit drugs among other items. These supplies back the claims of Diddy’s alleged violent “Freak-Offs.” Although the disgraced star has since pleaded “not guilty” on all counts, it appears the evidence against him speaks louder.
