In a shocking announcement, NetherRealm Studios unveiled the next installment of the MK franchise, Mortal Kombat 11. You can see the full, and bloody, trailer down below:

Mortal Kombat 11 – Official Announce Trailer

Ed Boon, director at NetherRealm Studios and co-creator of the Mortal Kombat franchise, was brought on stage to announce the nominees for the Best Sports/Racing Game of the Year. Instead of playing a video package for the nominees, the screen went black before displaying the NetherRealm and MK logo. Fans were treated with the epic trailer shown above.

While we don’t know what the combat will look like, the most interesting thing to come out of this trailer is the two different Scorpions shown. If you pre-order the game, you will gain access to the beta in April and will be able to play as Shao Khan. We won’t know anything more about the game’s story or the fighting mechanics until the Community Reveal for Mortal Kombat 11, January 17th.

What were your thoughts on the Mortal Kombat 11 announcement? Which fighters would you like to see included? Let us know in the comments below!
