A video has surfaced on the social media platform TikTok concerning a disabled Spurs fan who was reportedly harassed at the Spurs game in San Antonio, Texas, resulting in them having to leave early.

Commenters were quick to jump into the replies to try to defend the disabled Spurs fan, as well as share their frustrations about the situation. Many people are calling for other Spurs fans to “do better.”

Imagine being harassed so badly at a Spurs Finals game that you have to leave. 💔🏀 @hopemotivates @H-E-B @Beeclipzz #mustwatch #heartbroken #NBAFinals #spreadkindness #caregiverlife

The video was posted by a popular caregiver on the platform named Heather, who is well-known for caring for a young black man named Dustin. According to her account, Dustin and Heather, as well as a few other people, were in attendance during Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

She explains that the family had to leave because they were being harassed by other fans who were seated behind them. She says that there were patrons behind them who said that they could not see the court due to Dustin’s powerchair, which was raised so that he would be able to properly see the court.

To contextualize this, a previously posted video of them at the game shows exactly where they had been sitting, which did allow those behind them to easily see. However, according to Heather, even the usher who came over to address the complaint agreed with the complainees. As a result, they felt it was best to leave, even though those who made the initial complaint were asked to leave first.

What the venue and other attendees likely didn’t know was that Heather and Dustin are well-known on TikTok, which prompted various users to come to their defense.

Reactions to Disabled Man Forced to Leave Spurs Game

Users jumped into the comments section of the video to share their opinions, which were primarily of frustration. One of the top comments read, “You should reach out to the ada rep for the spurs and tell them what happened. They 100% have cameras over every inch of the floor. They do NOT fw ADA lawsuits. I used to work for an MLB team and the lady ADA lady was talking with fans every day about their experience.“

Another commenter simply wrote, “SPURS FANS DO BETTER.” Most of the comments followed this example, with another highly liked one reading, “The whole world has lost decorum, class, manners and decency.
