The Messenger has been on a lot of peoples radar for a while now, as Sabotage Studio’s indie title gives off an 8-bit Ninja Gaiden look and feel. Early today the team showed off a brand new trailer for the project.

The Messenger - E3 2018 Extended Gameplay

While the brand new trailer features some gameplay footage already shown off, starting off with the Cloudstep tutorial, it reveals new landscapes. Filled with both color and macabre backgrounds, The Messenger will travel to snowy terrain, creepy forests, and high Plateaus.

The trailer also shows off plenty of the game’s enemies and obstacles. The most breathtaking bit is left till the end though, as the player chases a creature through a clouded area, a dragon mimics his every jump and movement as it follows behind.

No release date has been confirmed for The Messenger as of yet. In the meantime, we will keep a close watch on Sabotage Studio and Devolver Digital’s social media accounts!
