It’s been 15 years since the original Syberia was released for Xbox, PS2, and PC. Now, the first installment in the trilogy, renamed Syberia 1, will be ported to the Nintendo Switch, along with the other two installments.

Developer Microids announced back in June that the trilogy would be coming to Nintendo’s console, alongside three of its other games. Earlier this week, a trailer was released for the

The point and click adventure series follows protagonist Kate Walker, a New York lawyer sent to the French Alps to deal with the sale of an automaton factory. What comes next would change her life forever.

Syberia 1

Alongside a peculiar automaton sidekick named Oscar, Walker explores Eastern Europe, meeting a cast of colorful characters along the way, including genius inventor Hans Voralberg. With his help, they follow the trails of the last mammoths, found on the mythical island of Syberia.

While some may think it’s odd that Nintendo would be porting such an old title, Syberia 1 seems like a perfect fit for the console. Thanks to the modularity of the Nintendo Switch, players will be able to experience Kate Walker’s journey in their living room in TV mode or on the go in handheld mode.

Syberia is currently available for purchase on the PC via Steam, while other iterations on PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS are no longer in production.

The Nintendo Switch version of the Syberia trilogy is being developed by Kolabs. The first installment in the ported trilogy will be released on October 20th, 2017. Syberia 2 is due to come out on the Switch later this year, while the final game will arrive at the start of 2018.
