A school teacher in Arizona expressed frustration after one of their students tore out Trump from the classroom’s United States Presidents poster. However, they didn’t condemn the student’s actions, saying, “I’m annoyed my poster is ruined, but I support freedom of expression.” While vandalism isn’t right, many in the comment section praised the teacher’s students, as they saw the anti-Trump behavior as hopeful.
Going by the Reddit username Cleffawna, the Arizona teacher posted a picture of the vandalized poster on r/MildlyVandalised, sharing that they taught government as a subject at their junior high school. When asked what the main demographics of their school were, Cleffawna responded with, “mostly Mexican American kids.”
“I imagine those kids may be living with some level of fear amid all the ICE chaos targeting their community,” remarked a commenter. While other hot topics, like the Iran War or gas prices, have been the main focus of the news lately, ICE is still very active across the country, according to the creator of Adam Ruins Everything, Adam Conover.
Many Commenters Praised the Student for Vandalizing the Poster
“Vandalized? It looks improved to me,” chuckled a commenter. “The kids are alright,” wrote a second, with a third saying that the vandalism “warmed their heart.” Other Redditors changed the subject, pointing out that someone had put a hole in President JFK’s head, implying that it might have been intentional. “To be fair, it looks Lincoln got a similar treatment,” added another.
This is just one of many examples online of commenters praising someone’s anti-Trump vandalism. Traces of people damaging property at gas stations in support of denouncing Trump have also been quite positive reactions, at least on Reddit. Whether it’s a classroom poster or a photo in the privacy of one’s home, any picture of the country’s current leader has caused quite a stir online.
