Ben Affleck‘s romance with Jennifer Lopez has been cemented in pop culture history. The duo first met more than two decades ago and took the world by storm with their steamy romance. The couple, deemed “Bennifer” by the tabloids, stunned fans when they called off their wedding in the early 2000s. However, what really dropped jaws was when they got back together nearly 20 years later. The couple rekindled their romance shortly after JLo ended her engagement to Alex Rodriguez. They began dating again and finally tied the knot in 2022. Since that time, they’ve been doing rumors that their marriage is on the rocks.

After Affleck was noticeably absent from accompanying Lopez to the Met Gala, the rumors ramped back up. OK! Magazine reports that the actor and the singer have been spending plenty of time apart recently as they’re currently working on opposite ends of the country. However, that seems to be just fine with Affleck, who is said to enjoy having a life separate from JLo so that he can decompress. Sadly, Lopez allegedly doesn’t feel the same way.
“She’s giving him some breathing room. Of course, she was a little hurt, but she knows he loves her. He just needed a break from the red carpets and publicity that she craves,” an insider tells the outlet. “He enjoys doing normal everyday stuff. Ben thinks having independent lives and separate interests is healthy for the relationship. JLo doesn’t totally agree, but she gets it,” the source added.
The informant went on to reveal that this is the first long stretch of time that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have spent apart in quite a while. They’re both reportedly dealing with the break in different ways. JLo hit the Met Gala and then jetted off to Paris with her child, Emme.
“She wants constant affirmation from him that she’s loved and adored,” the informant stated. “But she’s not getting much of that now and Ben gets defensive and moody.”
Maybe some space will be good for Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s marriage. However, it seems that they have very different ideas about what they want out of their relationship.
