Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s divorce wasn’t a huge shock to many fans. The couple had been dancing around their split for months before JLo officially filed to end the marriage in August. However, it seems that the regrets about their relationship may have gone back far for the Gone Girl actor. Sources claim that he believes he made a mistake by rekindling his romance with Lopez back in 2021.
According to In Touch Weekly, it looks like Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are completely over. Now, looking back, Affleck things he never should have tried to reconnect with JLo in the first place. After calling off their original engagement in the early 2000s, the actor and singer shocked fans when they got back together nearly two decades later in 2021.

However, Affleck thinks he was crazy for wanting to get back together with his former fiance all those years later. An insider tells the outlet that the actor believes his decision to reunite with Lopez was “temporary insanity.”
It seems that many fans agree as well.
“It’s a sad situation and unfortunate. However, they’ll both bounce back. Getting back together a third time would likely be catastrophic though,” one person stated.
“They can’t live with or without each other. They need to just call it quits for good and cut their losses. He made a big mistake and now he has to live with it,” another comment read.
However, The Mirror reports that there is still a lot of love between Affleck and Lopez. The two were spotted spending time together with their kids just weeks after moving to end their marriage.
“It feels like Ben and Jennifer have had some of the stress taken off their shoulders by finally filing for divorce after weeks of speculation. The reported kissing and cuddling on their recent outing could indicate there is still lots of love between them, and it shows that their feelings haven’t just disappeared overnight,” relationship expert Louella Alderson tells the outlet.
Ben Affleck may believe that his marriage to Jennifer Lopez was a mistake. However, that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t still feel love and affection toward her. Unfortunately, they just couldn’t seem to make it work.
