Former Diddy-Dirty Money singer Kalenna Harper joins a hoard of acquaintances weighing in on Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ abuse scandal. Several past Bad Boy Records employees have lobbied against Diddy with various allegations of violence and mistreatment from their encounters with him, all captured in a recent Rolling Stone article investigating his rise to fame and his eventual downfall. While most of these accounts, from about 50 acquaintances interviewed, portrayed him as vicious, one former colleague stands out.
Kalenna Harper, a former member of the musical trio Diddy-Dirty Money, stuck out for Diddy during her Rolling Stone interview, slamming those who spoke ill of him. Speaking to the interviewer, Kalenna sang the praise of her former band member, fondly recounting her experience working with him. She went on to blast Bad Boy Records’ former stars, who leveled damning allegations against him. According to her, their Diddy survivor stories reeked of “disgruntled employee syndrome.”
Kalenna Harper’s Claims Offsets Diddy Probe
Kalenna’s story is a far cry from the overwhelmingly negative feedback received from former employees, friends, and other acquaintances amid Diddy’s sexual abuse scandal. One of the most disturbing revelations in the Rolling Stone story centered around Diddy’s deal with the late rapper Notorious B.I.G. The account claims that the rapper, before his death, desperately sought ways to escape from his Bad Boy Records contract.
Additionally, the interview confirmed the disgraced hip-hop mogul made sexual advances on several female employees. On one occasion, Diddy allegedly lost his cool and became physically violent with a woman at the Bad Boy Records’ office, prompting other employees to intervene. Some acquaintances also touched on Diddy’s good attributes, including his charitable deeds and ability to put on the front of a super nice guy with ease.
Kelenna Harper’s defense of her Diddy-Dirty Money ex-bandmember could potentially cast Diddy in a new light, raising the possibility that most critics simply had scores to settle. But with Cassie Ventura‘s assault video making the rounds and his labored apology, it would be tough convincing anyone of Diddy’s good intentions, much less, a grand jury.
