Diddy‘s legacy continues to take a beating following the release of the terrifying abuse footage. Last week, fans finally saw video evidence backing singer Cassie‘s claims that she suffered domestic violence at the hands of the music mogul, who is also her ex-boyfriend. In the surveillance footage from March 2016, Diddy was seen brutally attacking Cassie in the corridors of an L.A. hotel. He was wearing just a towel while conducting the dastardly act. Now, brands have begun disassociating from the rapper, with Peloton taking the lead.
After the released abuse clip, Peloton dropped the news that they are doing away with all of Diddy’s music. The exercise equipment company announced the update on its private member’s Facebook page. Per TMZ, Peloton released a statement after a member expressed concerns: “Dear Peloton, Your next purge needs to be all Diddy classes. Signed, women everywhere.” In response, the fitness brand shared:
“We take this issue very seriously and can confirm Peloton has paused the use of Sean Combs’ music, as well as removed the Bad Boy Entertainment Artist Series, on our platform.”
Peloton took their actions to a level further, adding that their instructors will no longer use Diddy’s music in newly produced classes. “Again, thank you for sharing your concerns and being a member of our Peloton community,” the message ended. The brand is no stranger to booting off controversial stars from its platform. In 2022, they did the same to Kanye West amid his antisemitic tirade.
Diddy Says He Is ‘Truly Sorry’ In Apology Video
Peloton’s release comes days after the Bad Boys Records founder admitted to abusing his ex-girlfriend. Diddy dropped an apology video on social media, where he took accountability for his actions. “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you gotta do that. I was f–ed up; I mean, I hit rock bottom,” a somber-looking Diddy said.
He continued, “But I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it and I’m disgusted now.” The Coming Home artist confessed that he sought “therapy” and even went to “rehab” to deal with his issues. He promised to commit to “being a better man each and every day” before adding, “I’m truly sorry.”
Unfortunately, Diddy’s dispassionate speech wasn’t well-received by fans. Many slammed the fact that the rapper didn’t mention Cassie’s name at all. However, sources claim the disgraced artist couldn’t mention his ex’s name due to legal reasons.
