The rap game is currently being shaken up thanks to two titans going at it. Kendrick Lamar and Drake have been beefing for a few weeks now, and fans can’t get enough of it. However, in light of the recent shooting at Drake’s Toronto home, has the beef gone too far? Police do not have a lot to go on as the shooting led to a bodyguard being injured at Drake’s Toronto home. The guard is in serious condition.
According to TMZ, there is no description of the vehicle or the suspect as of right now. However, there is also no known motivation. It is unknown if Drake was home during the attack, but police say he is cooperating. Police asked about the beef with Lamar, but Drake would not speak on it.
Kendrick Lamar and Drake Continue Their Very Public Beef
Many believe the shooting has to be tied to the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Although there is no hard evidence to back that theory up. Recently, Drake’s store in London was vandalized with the words “They not like us” spray painted on the windows. This is in direct reference to Lamar’s diss track of the same name.
It is confirmed that Drake was not injured in the shooting. Police have taped off the mansion, and boots are currently on the ground there. Only one person has been transported to the hospital so far.
Kendrick Lamar has not made any comments on the shooting, and it is unclear if he will. Drake was the latest to respond with the song “The Heart Part 6.” Lamar has not dropped yet, although fans are certain he will.
However, if this beef continues, fans should be prepared for more incidents like this shooting. Two superpowers of the rap game are going head to head, and things could possibly get uglier from here on out.
