Now, with the Dallas Mavericks taking on the Boston Celtics in the 2024 NBA Finals, Drake has bet on the Mavericks to win it all. With that being said, the Celtics now believe that they have the championship in the bag.
Marca has reported that Drake has put $500,000 on the Mavs’ money line. However, has that just doomed the red-hot Dallas Mavericks? The Mavs are led by Luca Doncic and Kyrie Irving. These two have been on the warpath this postseason. On the other hand, the Boston Celtics have had an extremely easy path to the NBA Finals.
Drake Has Bet Against the Boston Celtics
The Celtics have yet to play a healthy team in their finals run. The Heat didn’t have Jimmy Butler, the Cavs didn’t have Jarrett Allen or Donovan Mitchell, and the Pacers didn’t have Tyrese Haliburton.
Many fans believed that the Celtics would not be ready for a healthy team, especially one led by the best offensive backcourt in the NBA. However, the tune has changed since Drake bet on the Mavs. The Toronto native’s last bet did not go as planned, either. He took Tyson Fury over Oleksandr Usyk, and, of course, Usyk won by split decision.
There is also some drama regarding this finals match-up. Kyrie Irving was once a Boston Celtic. Irving said he would resign with the team but then took off for Brooklyn with Kevin Durant.
