Cher and her son Elijah Blue Allman’s family feud continues to mount. The mother and son have been at each other for several months. Cher claims she is very concerned about Elijah’s drug addiction and fears that he will blow his trust fund on his addictions, leaving him with no means of support. However, Elijah has a different story and wants his mom out of his life for good.
Cher Takes Drastic Measures to Save Elijah Blue Allman
Cher will not receive Mother’s Day flowers from her son Elijah Blue Allman this year. According to Elijah, 47, the entertainment icon, 77, has been overstepping her parental boundaries. In September, the Believe hitmaker reportedly went to extreme measures to help save the life of her troubled son. Elijah is the son of Cher and the late Allman Brothers Band singer and songwriter Gregg Allman.
The Daily Mail reported that Cher was at the end of her rope and feared Elijah would soon end up dead due to years of drug addiction issues. So, the concerned mom reportedly hired men to kidnap her son. According to Cher, Elijah Blue was spiraling out of control, and she felt that desperate measures were needed to save her son’s life.
Elijah Blue Allman feels otherwise. But Cher needs to step in and place him under a conservatorship. She wanted to take charge of her son’s finances to ensure he didn’t spend every penny his father left him on drugs. However, Elijah is fighting back.
Celebrity Mom & Son Fight It Out in Nasty Court Battle
In early April, Elijah Blue Allman filed an objection in court, claiming that his mom, Cher, was out of line. Elijah blasted his mom verbally in court and acknowledged his struggles. OK Magazine reports that Elijah describes his mother as unfit. He also demands that Cher stay out of his life for good. He continued by saying that he feels a conservatorship is unnecessary now. However, should things change, his mother, Cher, is UNFIT and not the person for the job.
Elijah is upset by his mother’s intrusion, and he says her claims that he is “mentally ill” are false. “In the event that I am inclined to engage in self-destructive behaviors, I do not need my trust distributions to do so; the world is full of addicts and mentally ill persons who do not have a trust distribution from which to draw,” he said.
He goes on to explain that he feels the only person who can save him from his demons is himself. Elijah Blue adds that he fully intends to “save himself” and does not want Cher involved.
