Eminem can always rely on his Instagram fans to deliver a little humor. In June, and as buzz mounted over his “Houdini” single and new album, the 51-year-old rapper updated his account with live stage footage.
Showing a snippet from a Michigan performance of his chart-topping comeback track, Em dropped his razor-sharp rhymes while outfitted in his signature hoodie look, and for some, the semi-menacing outfit was just too good not to comment on. One of the most-liked replies joked about how Eminem “always dresses like he’s about to rob a bank.” With a net worth of $250 million, though, The Real Slim Shady likely doesn’t need to consider breaking the law to make ends meet.
Eminem Drops ‘Houdini’ Footage On Instagram
The video didn’t show anything out of the ordinary for Eminem. Fans saw a raving crowd, plus the 8 Mile star dropping his quippy one-liners, flawless rhymes, and the impeccable delivery that’s his trademark.
Wearing slouchy, low-slung pants in dark gray and going for a skinny-leg finish, Em kept coordinated with a matching tee. He threw in an outer layer via his light gray hoodie, making sure to keep the hood up.
The “Stan” rapper also wore his signature sneaker finish. In a caption, he wrote: “There’s no control, he just let’s his emotions go” #singforthemoment s/o to @jellyroll615 🎤 Don’t miss the #MichiganCentralOPEN replay tonight on @nbc at 7p ET.”
‘Like He’s ‘Bout To Rob A Bank’
A staggering 13,000+ fans liked a hilarious response going right for Eminem’s outfit. “I love how Em always dresses like he’s ’bout to rob a bank,” the fan wrote.
As to the controversial rapper making his big comeback, another popular comment shouted out millennials, most of whom remember Eminem’s early releases, including his 1999-dropped Slim Shady LP album. “Eminem being back is the best thing to happen to millennials since the Nokia 3210,” the fan wrote.
“Houdini” exploded from the moment it dropped. In late June, the record had smashed records to top 150 million Spotify streams.
On July 12, Em released his 12th studio album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). The rapper has warned listeners not to play it on shuffle, stating that there’s a logic to the order of the tracks. Many, however, are still relishing “Houdini,” even if it did anger rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who didn’t appreciate the “shot” and “feat” lyrics seemingly mocking her 2020 shooting at the hands of now-jailed Tory Lanez.
Eminem is followed by over 43 million on Instagram.
