Reba McEntire and Taylor Swift have been on good terms and have supported each other’s music for a long time. But recently, a Facebook page tried to pit both women against each other. In a now-viral post, the satirical account claimed that the country music singer called Taylor Swift entitled after her performance at the 2024 Super Bowl. Not long after, McEntire took to social media to set the record straight. The icon revealed the claims were false and sang Swift’s praises.
Reba McEntire Addresses Claims About Calling Taylor Swift Entitled
Reba McEntire and Taylor Swift are at the center of a media storm, all thanks to a false Facebook post. Recently, an account called “America Loves Liberty” took to the social platform with some derogatory claims about McEntire. In the post, the account alleged the 68-year-old had an issue with how Swift reacted during her performance of the National Anthem at the 2024 Super Bowl.
“Reba McIntire talks about how disappointed she was to look up at the big screen while performing The National Anthem, only to see Taylor Swift laughing and drinking and making fun of the event,” the post read.
It further claimed that the legend gave the Cruel Summer singer a piece of her mind afterward and called Taylor Swift an “entitled little br*t.” However, in an Instagram post, McEntire denied saying such words about Swift. She shared a screenshot of the false Facebook post and captioned it:
“Please don’t believe everything you see on the internet. I did not say this.”
McEntire went on to compliment Swift. She called her a wonderful artist and a strong role model who had done so much good for many people and the music industry.
Fans React to the Reba McEntire and Taylor Swift Fake Post
Following McEntire’s response, fans of both artists took to various social media platforms to express their thoughts on the matter. On Reddit, many took McEntire’s side, revealing they were certain the post was false.
“I call BS. Reba is way too professional to talk trash on another artist publicly and probably privately, too,” one fan wrote.
Another person commented:
“Speak the truth always, people making up crap about others are full of crap themselves.”
Some fans also noted that the picture of Swift drinking was from another part of the event.
“The shot they’re talking about (Taylor chugging beer) was in the second quarter of the game and she wasn’t shown during the national anthem,” a Redditor shared.
Others noted that the post didn’t even spell “McEntire” correctly — a clear indication that the post was fake.
