Colton Underwood, recognized as the first gay Bachelor becomes a new dad, welcoming his first baby with husband Jordan C Brown. Back in May, the lovebirds announced they were expecting their first child together, revealing the expected due date as October 2024. Colton admitted the child would be the first of two kids they planned to have together as a married couple. They spent the following months preparing for the baby’s arrival, giving fans glimpses into their beautiful pre-baby journey.
After a long wait, their bundle of joy finally arrived, and he was all they expected and more. Taking to Instagram on Monday, the Bachelor alum Colton Underwood shared a photo of himself and his husband, Jordan C Brown, posing with their new baby, all smiles. The shot captured the newborn, a son clad in a striped onesie, lying on a baby cart, which Jordan held on to. They unveiled their son’s name via caption writing,
“Our world is a million times better with you in it. Bishop Colton Brown-Underwood 💙 September 26th, 2024.”
The news of the latest addition to the Bachelor Nation left many excited, with various fans and celebrities turning to the comment section to pour in warm congratulatory messages. One Tree Hill star Sophia Bush, Queer Eye alum Bobby Berk and singer/actress Kate Hudson, and Selling Sunset’s Emma Hernan led the outpouring, officially welcoming Bishop Colton Brown-Underwood into the fold.
Colton Underwood’s Complicated Journey to Fatherhood
Earlier this year, Colton Underwood opened up about his fatherhood plans with his husband, Jordan C Brown, revealing they wanted two kids together. He admitted that while they left the conception of their first son to chance and remained unaware of who between them fathered the child, they looked forward to having the other person do the honors on their next issue.
Colton starred as the lead man on The Bachelor in 2019, searching for love among 30 women aspiring to become his bride. He eventually wound up with contestant Cassie Randolph with whom it seemed he had some chemistry. Hence, it came as a complete shock when the TV personality came out as gay during a one-on-one with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America in April 2021.
He eventually owned up fully to his sexual orientation by going public with his relationship with Jordan and tying the knot in May 2023. One year down the line and counting, the former symbol of heterosexuality hasn’t regretted the big decision and is in fact thankful for the chance to embark on this journey together, along with their future brood.
