LeBron James has returned from his break from the internet, as well as returning to the court. However, during a recent interview, James did not hold back when asked what he thinks about the current state of the National Basketball Association. James seems to have grown to be a very anti-three-point line player. However, this has led to former NBA player Patrick Beverley to voice his opinion about the situation. Can James back up his statements? Or will the basketball world completely disagree with The King?
According to Basketball Network, Pat Bev had some very choice words for LeBron James after he mentioned players shooting too many threes in NBA games. Beverley, who was a teammate of James’ in Los Angeles, stated that, “The NBA decline happened under your tenure.” While James has never really been an advocate for fewer three-point shots, some fans may find it strange that LBJ would do such a quick 360 regarding his views on the game of basketball. It seems as though Bron is blaming the three-ball on the NBA’s dropping TV ratings. However, as James continues to battle with his age, maybe something has changed.
Former NBA Player Patrick Beverley Puts LeBron James on Blast
Patrick Beverley has always been a very outspoken player. However, the guard is no longer playing NBA-level basketball, as Patrick took a contract to play in Israel. Pat Bev’s new team is currently Hapoel Tel Aviv, which means “The Worker.” However, before Patrick took his talents overseas, he was last spotted on the Milwaukee Bucks working beside Giannis Antetokounmpo.
As for LeBron James, he is not only one of, if not the best player to ever pick up a basketball. LBJ also arguably has the most longevity out of any other player of all time. James is pushing 40 years old as he currently sits at 39. The King has also played a whopping 22 seasons and counting. James has had an amazing career. While it is coming to a close, James may still have some left in the tank. There is speculation that LeBron only has a few years left to play in the NBA. However, nothing has been confirmed as of right now.
For LeBron James to call out not only other players for taking so many threes, but also saying that this amount of threes being shot is the direct issue could cause even more issues. However, LeBron has always been an outspoken player when it comes to everything, not just basketball. Can James usher in a new era of basketball before he retires? Or will the younger stars have to make that change? Only time will tell.
