Get this: Even Hailey Bieber has shown her support. After the couple shared the exciting announcement on Instagram, the model reacted to the news by “liking” their post. The move has understandably shocked fans due to the women’s shared history with Justin Bieber.
Are Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber Ready to Put the Past Behind Them?
To give you a refresher, the pair has been accused of shading each other on social media for years. Fans were convinced Hailey had always been jealous of Justin and Selena’s past since they dated on and off for nearly a decade. Meanwhile, they thought the Only Murders in the Building actress had resented Hailey for supposedly “stealing” Justin away from her.
Selena and Hailey had repeatedly tried to shut down the feuding rumors on social media. However, that didn’t stop fans from constantly pitting them against each other. Last year, it got so bad that Hailey revealed she had received “death threats” after being accused of shading Selena with her best friend Kylie Jenner. Since things had gotten out of control, the pop star was forced to intervene by asking everyone to stop bullying Hailey.
Thankfully, the feuding rumors have died down a bit since then. It’s likely a result of the women stepping back from social media to focus on their personal lives.
After announcing they were expecting earlier this year, Justin and Hailey welcomed their first child — a son named Jack Blues Bieber — in August. As for Selena, she has found love again with music producer Benny Blanco. The pair got together sometime during the summer of 2023 before finally confirming their romance last December.
Hailey Shows Subtle Support
Now that Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are engaged, perhaps the drama between the singer and model is finally over. I mean, even their fans seem ready to move on, too. “Classy move, Hailey,” one person said in response to the Rhode founder “liking” Selena’s post. “We love women supporting women,” another fan wrote. “War is over,” read another comment.
Hailey Bieber was just one of the nearly 20 million people who “liked” Selena’s engagement announcement on Instagram. One celebrity who has yet to react to the news, however, is Justin Bieber. He hasn’t liked or commented on his ex’s post. Considering he and Selena have a complicated history, it’s likely he won’t be addressing it anytime soon.
