Jay-Z‘s recent efforts to dismiss the sexual assault lawsuit against him have raised several eyebrows on social media. The rap icon became embroiled in the drama after an anonymous woman accused him of raping her at 13. She claimed the incident also involved Diddy, a disgraced entertainer who enjoyed a close relationship with Jay-Z.
However, Jay-Z refuses to be implicated in his pal’s federal case, claiming he never had inappropriate relationships with minors. His attorney, Alex Spiro, recently filed documents to get the lawsuit thrown out of court. The legal rep reportedly made the move on Monday morning, stressing the importance of revealing the plaintiff’s identity. Spiro’s argument read:
“Fair is fair. It is not consistent with justice, fairness, or the rules governing federal proceedings for the Plaintiff and her counsel to smear [Jay-Z] ‘s good name.”
The lawyer claimed his client has an “impeccable reputation” and has never been accused of sexual misconduct. He doubled down on Jay-Z’s innocence, alleging he had never engaged in inappropriate relations. Additionally, Jay-Z painted himself as a victim of blackmail, arguing that the alleged victim’s attorney tried to extort him. He claimed Tony Buzbee demanded money from him to stop the lawsuit but filed it when he refused. TMZ reported that the rapper filed these claims in November anonymously. He referred to himself as a “high profile individual” who had attended Diddy’s parties but recently revealed his identity.
Jay-Z Demands for the Lawsuit to the Tossed
In the new documents, Jay-Z confirmed he was the one who filed the November lawsuit anonymously. He claims he was outed by Buzbee and the alleged victim because he refused to accept their demands. On that note, the Roc Nation founder demands the woman’s identity be revealed or the case be tossed.
While Jay-Z’s request might be a strategic plan to dismiss the lawsuit, his method had many believing his guilt. These conspiracy theorists shared their thoughts on X, with someone claiming, “It’s like reality a show. Maybe we will find out the results next episode.” Another noted it was a “wrap for rappers that are rapers.”
A third reminded others about comedian Kat Williams’ declaration that “all lies will be exposed in 2024.” Meanwhile, more X users speculated the reason behind Jay-Z’s legal move. Someone believed he wanted to intimidate the plaintiff, while another claimed he couldn’t remember all of his assault victims. The judgments continued, with a fan declaring the Hip-Hop star was “Guilty for sure.”
Inside The Rape Accusation
Jay-Z’s efforts to dismiss the sexual assault lawsuit comes days after We covered the story. On December 8, the plaintiff filed a civil lawsuit against him and Diddy for allegedly raping her at 13. She claimed the incident happened at a party after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. However, the billionaire entrepreneur shut down the narrative with a lengthy statement, writing:
“My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a “lawyer” named Tony Buzbee. What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle.”
Jay-Z stressed that the alleged extortion scheme pushed him to expose the alleged victim and her lawyer. He claimed he wouldn’t pay them a penny for a crime he did not commit. Additionally, he notes that “whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away.”
Will the judge dismiss the lawsuit against Jay-Z, or will the alleged victim’s identity come to light?
