Jelly Roll’s Weight Loss Makes Headlines at the 2024 CMAs
The 2024 CMAs was a night to remember. The award show took place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday, Nov. 20. So many celebrities attended the event, including Jelly Roll and his wife, Bunnie XO.
The 39-year-old singer was up for three nominations: Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Album of the Year. Although he didn’t go home with any awards, Jelly Roll still had a great night. He was all smiles as he flaunted his new look during the event.
Jelly Roll’s weight loss was a major talking point on the CMAs red carpet. While talking to ET, the star gushed about how proud he was of his physical transformation. He confirmed he returned to the CMAs “100 pounds lighter” than last year’s show. If you’re wondering what inspired Jelly Roll to make such a dramatic lifestyle change, it was his desire to be more confident. “I just wanna feel good. I wanna feel normal,” he said.
Since he had been “morbidly obese” his entire life, Jelly Roll wanted to feel like he fit in with everybody else for once. After sticking to his diet and exercise routine for a year, he feels like he is finally achieving that goal.
He’s Determined to Stick to His Routine
This is just the beginning of Jelly Roll’s weight loss journey. The singer said he’s “committed” to shedding off more excess weight. He can’t wait to see how much he’ll change by the time the next CMAs rolls around. “I want to continue to show what God can do if you allow him to work,” he said.
2025 is definitely expected to be even better for Jelly Roll. Next year, he’ll open for Post Malone on The Big Ass Stadium Tour. The trek will kick off on April 29 in Salt Lake City. The pair will perform in various cities around the U.S. throughout the spring and summer months. They’ll conclude their shows on July 1 in San Francisco.
The general sale for The Big Ass Stadium Tour will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
