Julie Chrisley apologized in court during her recent resentencing. The reality star has been in a legal battle since 2019 after a grand jury indicted her for tax and bank fraud. After being sentenced to seven years in prison in November 2022, Julie has fought vigorously to get her conviction overturned.

According to an APNews report, in June 2024, a three-panel judge found a legal error in Julie’s original sentence. They agreed to send her case to a lower court for resentencing. Julie’s attorney, Alex Little, asked the judge for a five-year sentence. He argued that her offenses were “scattered” and “dramatic mistakes.”

Julie, 51, also addressed the court, apologizing for her crimes and referencing the pain she’s caused her children.

Julie Chrisley’s Time in Prison Has Been Extremely “Difficult”

“I apologize for my actions and what led me to where I am today.”

After Julie apologized to the court, the Chrisley Knows Best star discussed her current stay in prison, saying it’s been “the most difficult time in my life.” Later, she mentioned her children and family, saying it’s been a challenging time for them with her away.

“I cannot ever repay my children for what they have had to go through, and for that, I am sorry,” she said.

Once Julie and the prosecution shared their piece, a judge reinstated the reality star’s original sentence of seven years.

Following the sentencing, Savannah Chrisley said her mother is expected to appeal the decision. She also expressed her disappointment in the judge alongside her brother, Chase.

Once the news got out, social media users voiced their opinions.

“That is what a LIFE of crime gets ya,” one said.

“That’s life, don’t break the law, and you don’t have to worry about anyone bringing up false allegations in a courtroom,” another user wrote.

For now, Julie will remain in custody. However, things could change if her next appeal is successful.
