Matt LeBlanc is sparking concern as The Daily Mail reports him “unraveling” in the wake of former costar Matthew Perry’s death. The sitcom star, 57, has barely been seen out since the October 2023 passing of Perry, with the report including a photo of him out and about in L.A.
This week marks one year since the passing of Friends actor Matthew, who died from a ketamine overdose and was found unresponsive in his hot tub at the age of 54. Fans seeing the report quickly commented, noting that Matt appears to have gained weight, although not all were convinced it was a sign of him struggling. Matthew’s loss hit fans hard last fall. Matt, best known for playing heartthrob Joey Tribbiani on the hit TV series, has his memorial post to Matthew Perry pinned to the top of his Instagram feed.
Matt LeBlanc Worries After Matthew Perry’s Tragic Passing
Per sources close to Matt, the actor has sparked enough concern that both costar Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox have expressed worry and are watching out for him.
Meanwhile, fans saw a photo of Matt walking around in the L.A. sunshine as he wore dark blue jeans, a black t-shirt, and sneakers. Not appearing in the mood to be photographed, the sitcom superstar kept a low profile in a baseball cap, with fans noting his composure and his waistline.
The insider claims that 55-year-old Jen has “been spending a lot of time with Matt at his home … cooking for him, or just hanging out and watching movies, or sitting and chatting.” It even claimed that LolaVie founder Aniston has spent the night at his place to make sure he’s okay.
Fans Saying He’s Gained ‘Weight’
Replies were largely supportive as fans noted the first anniversary since Matt’s death. While one fan pointed out that it was normal for a man of Matt’s age to put on a little weight, another said that he looks “chubbier.”
“57, belly, doesn’t seek the limelight. gets on with his life. Sounds good, and there are billions of successful men just like him,” a further fan said.
Alongside remaining former costars Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer, Matt attended Perry’s private funeral, held shortly after his passing. Posting throwback photos that included Friends scenes on Instagram last November, he wrote:
“Matthew,” adding:
“It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life. It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never.”
Friends aired from 1994-2004. Following the show’s end, the six main cast members reunited for a Reunion Special.
