Megan Thee Stallion is currently dealing with lawsuits alleging sexual harassment and weight shaming. According to several media outlets, she has been sued by her former cameraman, Emilio Garcia. Even though she denied the accusations, the “Sweetest Pie” singer’s legal battles have put her in the public eye once again. Known for her fierce persona and unapologetic attitude, the 29-year-old rapper often grabs headlines, whether through her controversial lyrics or public disputes with artists like Nicki Minaj.
‘Severe, Pervasive’ Harassment
As reported by NBC, Garcia filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, alleging that the singer not only insulted, body-shamed, and treated him differently but also cautioned him against discussing what he witnessed during the singer’s intimate moment with a woman in a moving vehicle while on a foreign trip.
According to the lawsuit, he stated that the harassment was sufficiently “severe” and “pervasive”, creating a work environment that was hostile and abusive. He further stated that the condition had become so hard that he found it impossible to continue working with the celebrity.
Garcia began his role as a personal cameraman for Megan Thee Stallion in 2018. He embarked on exclusively working for the Grammy-winning artist in 2019, leaving his previous job. His employment with her continued until June 2023, the NBC piece stated.
Megan Thee Stallion Denies Allegations
The singer has strongly refuted the allegations made by Garcia. According to Variety, Stallion, represented by her attorney Alex Spiro, described the accusations as an “attempt to embarrass her,” maintaining her innocence in the matter.
“This is an employment claim for money — with no sexual harassment claim filed and with salacious accusations to attempt to embarrass her. We will deal with this in court,” Spiro said, according to the piece.
