Miley Cyrus recently stated that she hopes that her Dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, is moving in the right direction after his messy divorce. Miley and her siblings were always confused as to why their father rushed into another marriage when nobody approved of his relationship with Firerose. Although tensions are high, Miley remains optimistic that Billy Ray and her family can move past this. Billy Ray shares his children with his ex-wife, Tish Cyrus.
US Weekly reports that Miley Cyrus is hopeful that her family will experience some peace moving forward. The singer continues by saying that this should be a step in the right direction for her father. As of June 11, Billy Ray Cyrus has officially filed to annul his marriage to Firerose. The country artist cited irreconcilable differences as well as inappropriate marital conduct as the reason for their split. Despite all of this drama, Miley can still recognize her dad as a crucial role model in her life.
Miley Cyrus Wants the Best for Billy Ray Cyrus
“He’s almost given me this map, and it’s a map of what to do and what not to do, and he’s guided me on both,” Miley said. “Without my dad, I know … who I am as a person wouldn’t exist. Because my dad is creative and like an artist, the way his brain works has always made me feel safer in my own mind.”
The couple began their relationship as co-workers and music collaborators in July 2021 while Billy was still married to Tish. Four months after filing for divorce, Billy Ray and Firerose announced that they were engaged. The two then tied the knot in October of 2023.
However, Miley has made it very clear that she is on her mother’s side since the divorce. She even served as her mother’s maid of honor at Tish’s wedding to Dominic Purcell.
Miley Cyrus is still trying to process everything that has been going on lately. Billy Ray Cyrus understands this as he is giving his daughter time to think. As of right now, the two are still close. However, if Billy can’t change his ways soon, it might be too late.
