Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice are accustomed to royal family drama. Their parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson along with other relatives have created scandals. Despite being in the public spotlight, the sisters have lead quiet lives. However, the two now find themselves in the midst of the Royal Family’s feud against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Prince Harry and Meghan’s feud with his family has many relatives choosing sides. While some family members have turned their backs on the couple in favor of King Charles and Prince William, they still have two supporters.
Eugenie and Beatrice remain close to Harry and Meghan. The cousins were best friends growing up and their bond is still strong even though he’s living in California. While it’s nice the sisters are keeping in touch with Harry and Meghan, not everyone is happy about it.
According to The Mirror, royal expert Tom Quinn says the girls’ friendship with the couple is causing concern.
There is serious concern at Kensington Palace that Prince Andrew’s daughters Beatrice and Eugenie are becoming increasingly close to Harry and Meghan. Beatrice and Eugenie are moving across to what one Kensington Palace official described as ‘the dark side.’
Quinn went on to explain that the sisters have their own issues with the palace.
Still furious that their disgraced father Prince Andrew has not been rehabilitated, Beatrice and Eugenie feel like outcasts, their sense of abandonment made worse by King Charles’ refusal to allow them to be part of the inner group of working royals.
While things are still tense with Charles and William, Quinn says Harry can rely on his cousins for support.
With the complete breakdown of relations with his father and brother, Harry feels that Beatrice and Eugenie are among the very few members of the family who are sympathetic to the position he finds himself in. He has always been fond of his cousins, but they are now more important to him than they have ever been.
During Harry’s London visit on May 8th for the 10th Anniversary of the Invictus Games, his cousins were absent from the event. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News, there’s a good reason the princesses weren’t there.
If you had any members of the royal family going it would have been perceived as a split. There would have been no way Beatrice and Eugenie would have attended an event like that without The King’s consent.
While they weren’t able to attend Harry’s event, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice did join William for a garden party on Tuesday, May 21. Despite the rainy weather, the sisters will all smiles as they mingled with guests.
Although the sisters are still close with Harry and Meghan, it appears they’re also supporting William too. With rumors swirling that the future king might make his cousins working royals, the family drama could get more interesting.
