Rod Stewart fans faced a second round of disappointment and concern for the legendary performer. The singer, who recently shocked his fans by stating that he knows his ‘Days are numbered,‘ has been forced to cancel more shows.
The Maggie May hitmaker’s PR people posted a statement on Rod Stewart’s Instagram page alerting his fans to the cancellations. This is the singer’s second round of cancellations in the past week, a clear indication of the severity of his health issues and their impact on his performances.
Earlier this week, Rod announced on social media that he had to cancel the 200th show of his 13-year residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, initially scheduled for Aug. 7, due to having strep throat.
Rod’s recent Instagram post simply stated that his shows in Nevada and California have been postponed. They have been rescheduled for later this month due to illness. The post reveals that Stewart had contracted the Summer strain of COVID-19. The singer would be taking time off to recover before returning to the stage.
Rod Stewart Reveals He Doesn’t ‘Fear Death’
Rod will turn 80 on his upcoming birthday in January and has reportedly been taking a long look at his life. The singer recently revealed death is often on his mind these days. He claims that even though his time on earth is growing short, it will not slow him down. He does not fear death, nor will he change his lifestyle.
He admits that he has spent more than five decades living his life on his terms. He plans to end his time on earth by continuing to live his life to the fullest.
Rod Stewart spoke with The Sun and shared his thoughts and plans. He says, “I’m aware my days are numbered, but I’ve got no fear. We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket. I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can.”
