Throughout the record, the singer reflects on several of her past relationships, including her brief fling with Matty Healy. Although she doesn’t name-drop The 1975 star in any of her songs, fans are convinced a few of her lyrics are about him. So, what does Healy think about being Swift’s rumored muse? He just broke his silence.
Do Taylor Swift and Matty Healy Have Drama?
On Wednesday, April 24, paparazzi caught up with Healy while he was on a casual stroll in Los Angeles. Since everyone has been talking about The Tortured Poets Department, he was asked to “rate” his “Taylor diss track” compared to the rest of the record. Healy initially appeared to be confused by the question but then realized the reporter was referring to Taylor Swift’s new album.
Instead of saying anything negative about his rumored ex-girlfriend, Healy kept things cordial by praising the “Fortnight” singer. Although he admitted he hasn’t checked out the entire album just yet, he’s liked what he’s heard so far. He told Entertainment Tonight:
I haven’t really listened to that much of it but I’m sure it’s good.

After answering the question, Healy walked away from the paparazzi, seemingly unbothered by all of the drama surrounding Taylor Swift’s new album. Fans loved his carefree attitude. One person said he gave a “very classy, respectful answer.” Another admired how he “took the high road.”
The release of The Tortured Poets Department comes nearly a year after rumors surfaced that Taylor Swift and Matty Healy were an item. News of their relationship first broke in May 2023. They were spotted hanging out in public several times. However, after just a few weeks of dating, they appeared to have split sometime in June.
Since then, Swift went on to date NFL star Travis Kelce. Meanwhile, Healy has been romantically linked to model Gabbriette Bechtel.
