The ring featured a black gem surrounded by pavé diamonds around the stone and the band. “MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT,” Bechtel captioned the snap, also tagging Healy’s Instagram account.
The 26-year-old performer also flaunted the gorgeous jewelry in a mirror selfie, showing her rocking a black dress. While it was initially unclear if the posts were indeed an engagement announcement, Healy‘s mother, Denise Welch, confirmed it during an appearance on Loose Women on Wednesday. “I have known for a few months that Matty got engaged…They went over to see their friends, Charli and Goerge in New York and I woke up this morning to the fact that they’ve put it on Instagram,” she said per The Sun. Welch went on to express her happiness about Bechtel becoming a part of the family soon. She revealed she couldn’t be more thrilled, adding that the model was everything she would want in a daughter-in-law.
