Ah, Teri Hatcher: actress, mother, wife, and lover of Christmas. The Desperate Housewives star recently decided to give fans an insight into her holiday plans, and it was nothing like what we were expecting because she takes her celebrations seriously and is also a bit of a perfectionist.
In a recent interview with People, Hatcher discussed how she was transforming her home with her gingerbread creations, and no, they are not just your average house with some icing and candy because she likes to let her creative juices flow. The actress explained that her gingerbread houses are “usually quite extravagant.” She added, “My rule on gingerbread is everything has to be edible. You can’t cheat at all.” Dang, so she’s pretty strict about the rules, but then again, she is the expert, as she has made a Barbie dream house, a chandelier, and a church.
Hatcher hasn’t started planning this year, but she hinted that a Lego-inspired gingerbread could be coming our way. There was a time when her adult daughter Emerson Tenney helped her in the kitchen, making the experience even more special. “She certainly learned a lot from me about cooking, and she loves to cook herself, but in terms of baking, the gingerbread thing is always a pretty big deal,” Hatcher said. Also, in her interview, she revealed she spends so much time in the kitchen during the holidays, and baking is a very important part of her festive traditions.
Teri Hatcher Brings Us The Festive Cheer
Do you want to know what else is a part of her holiday season? Christmas movies! We have to agree that this is the perfect time to binge films that we normally would never watch, and there are undoubtedly plenty of kitschy offerings already this year. Hatcher has also been the star of several holiday films, including A Kiss Before Christmas, Christmas at the Chalet, and most recently, the 2023 film How to Fall in Love by Christmas. Just a week ago, she took to Instagram to promote the movie and share her excitement about the release on her birthday, Dec. 8 (and it will be a particularly special one because she will turn 60).
“If you’re interested in #HowToFallinLoveByChristmas check out the ONLY movie I’ve ever done that airs on my BIRTHDAY. What a present! We had fun sharing the holiday vibes at #Itsawonderfullifetime event. I’m wishing you the most wonderful holiday season,” she wrote. Fans have been excited about the film, and reactions include, “I love Christmas movies,” “This movie is just Amazing,” and “You were so wonderful.”
If you are a fan of Hatcher, this may be something to add to your festive celebrations!
