Tammi Menendez is not all the way happy about The Menendez Brothers‘ re-sentencing decision. The wife of Erik Menendez, one of the infamous siblings, shared her thoughts about the case on X. Shortly after the DA’s decision, she wrote:
“Yesterday was a difficult and emotional day. I am Grateful to DA Gascon for his courage to seek re-sentencing for Erik. I am naturally disappointed he did not go further and act on his own belief that Erik and Lyle have served enough time in prison.”
Her words sparked mixed reactions from social media users, with some supporting the brothers’ possible parole. Meanwhile, others hated the idea of Erik and Lyle Menendez’s freedom, with one critic arguing, “They committed cold, calculated murder regardless of the accusations. The whole molestation defense doesn’t get you off for what you did. They had choices they didn’t take. Their story doesn’t make sense. It just doesn’t.”
Another person declared, “They both should serve life. They literally shot their parents’ faces off. Showed NO remorse. Do Not let them out!” A third echoed similar sentiments, writing, “I hope the judge is smart and keeps them where they are!!!! It was cold-blooded murder to both parents.”
These cries against the Menendez brothers did not overshadow fans’ love and support. “I’ve prayed and cried on and off for the past few weeks. I know frustrating, but try and keep your head up. Many people are pulling for them,” someone claimed. “Still praying for a positive outcome!! Hang in there,” an X user added. “I can’t imagine the emotions that Lyle, Erik, and their families are feeling during this process. Please remember the large amount of people around the world that support you all,” a fellow supporter penned.
Erik Menendez Hopes To Reunite With His Wife if He Gets Released
Tammi’s disappointment about the re-sentencing decision might have something to do with her husband’s bucket list. We previously shared that Erik has set his sights on reuniting with his wife if released from prison. The other half of the Menendez brothers wished to build a new life in Las Vegas with Tammi. His freedom meant a lot to the couple because they could finally spend time together.
Erik and his wife tied the knot in 1999, six years after they began communicating through letters. Lyle similarly met his first wife, Anna Eriksson, in 1996 after exchanging letters. They divorced in 2001, and he married his current wife, Rebecca Sneed, in 2003. The couple reportedly exchanged letters for over a decade before saying their vows.
Besides their wives, the Menendez brothers had Kim Kardashian in their corner. She celebrated the re-sentencing announcement on her Instagram Stories, telling fans, “The Menendez brothers were granted a second chance at life and will wake up tomorrow finally eligible for a parole hearing. They could be released in as early as 6 months.”
Kardashian thanked L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón for revisiting the brothers’ case and “righting a significant wrong.” She also reaffirmed her belief in the justice system changing for the better, writing:
“I believe in the justice system’s ability to evolve, and I am grateful for a society where we can challenge decisions and seek justice. Never stop questioning.”
Will the Menendez brothers regain their freedom and reunite with their wives?
