Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are two of the hottest names in the NFL right now. Not only are they Super Bowl champs, but the world can’t stop talking about their partners, either. Of course, Travis is dating pop sensation Taylor Swift, while Pat is married to his college sweetheart. Due to their long-standing bond as teammates, they’re known to be a pretty tight duo. In previous seasons, Kelce was almost a shoo-in to get into the end zone. But that’s not the cast this year. In fact, during a recent episode of Travis’ podcast, New Heights, the NFL tight-end expressed his annoyance due to being disconnected from Pat. While conversing with his brother, Jason Kelce, Travis called it “f*cking frustrating.” So, what else did he have to say?
Travis Wants Patrick To Find Him in the End Zone
As many know, Travis and Patrick’s NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs, are pretty good. However, this year, they’ve found themselves in a few tight battles. One of them came on December 1 when they faced off against the Raiders. Although they pulled out the win, it appeared luck just happened to be on their side. During the game, Kelce caught seven receptions for 68 yards. So far this season, he’s recorded two touchdowns.
But according to Swift’s lover, that’s not okay with him.
“Where I take a lot of pride is once we get in that red zone, man,” he said, referring to the area on the field between the 20-yard line and the goal line. “I get a little hungrier. Right now, for whatever reason this year, I just can’t find my way in the end zone. I’m just not on the same page as Pat. It can get frustrating. It can get f*cking frustrating. That’s for damn sure.”
Travis’ brother, Jason, who played for the Philadelphia Eagles, came to his defense. The former offensive lineman said he understood Travis wanting to hold himself to a “high standard.” However, he said he believed his younger brother was being “too hard on yourself.”
Fans React to Travis’ Revelation
Fans reacted to Travis’ revelation about his relationship with Patrick Mahomes online. Needless to say, they didn’t show him much grace.
“No sh*t motherf*cker,” one person wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Work on your routes more after practice instead of [being obsessed with your girl].”
“Work like balance, right?” another person wrote. “More concerts mean less training and practice.”
However, there were a few that had the baller’s back.
“There’s nothing you can say about Trav’s route,” one person clapped back. “That MF is still one of the best route runners out there at 35 and still going strong.”
“You know every dude on that team has got a girl, right?” someone else commented. “Why aren’t you being a weirdo about them too? Idiot!”
The Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the Los Angeles Chargers at home on December 8. After Travis’ declaration, it’s almost a given that all eyes will be on him and Mahomes when they get into the red zone. Kelce hasn’t caught a touchdown pass since November 10. Could he break his dry this week? Fans will have to stay tuned to see!
