For months since Valheim‘s Early Access release, players have had to find creative ways to toss out their unwanted items, but now, thanks to the recent Hearth and Stone Update, players can craft an Obliterator, a lore-friendly means to incinerating junk. The Obliterator is relatively easy to build, only requiring players to commit to a few hours of mining and smelting. The necessary resources will come from the Black Forest and Swamp biomes, including a unique material that only can be purchased from Haldor, the merchant. Continue reading to learn the details on how to make an Obliterator in Valheim.
How to Make an Obliterator in Valheim
To craft an Obliterator in Valheim, players will need to acquire Copper x4, Iron x8, and Thunder Stone x1. Once locating Haldor, players can buy a Thunder Stone for 50 gold coins. A nearby Forge is needed to build the Obliterator.
Copper is a common resource in Valheim found in the Black Forest, and it is also used to craft the necessary Forge. Iron is a bit more tricky to acquire, as it’s located in one of the more dangerous biomes, the Swamp. Players will need to find a Sunken Crypt dungeon within a Swamp and battle through the many challenging, undead Draugr guarding its miry halls.
After successfully building the Obliterator in Valheim, place it in a small clearing, preferably away from other building blocks and structures. Upon activation, Thor’s lightning will strike down from the heavens, destroying the items inside the Obliterator and causing minor AOE damage around the device. Players will be given a few moments to step back after pulling its lever, so remember not to stay too close to it when before the thunderbolt strikes.
Valheim is available on PC.
