As the 2024 Paris Olympics draws closer, fans are hopeful that singer Taylor Swift will make an appearance before the European leg of her Eras tour draws to a close. Back in May, the crooner took on Paris with four groundbreaking shows, as part of the International leg of her Eras tour.

She performed at the 40,000-capacity Paris La Défense Arena between May 9 and May 12, marking her first stage performance following the debut of her 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department.

Beginning of An Era

During one of her Paris concerts, Taylor Swift admitted the Parisian energy inspired her to debut “all kinds of fun surprises.” Sure enough, the crooner played favoritism in the City of Lights, debuting a new setlist, and an elaborate set of never-before-seen costumes.

Her spot-on launch of a new era dubbed “female rage, the musical,” in Paris no doubt proved her fondness for the French capital. But after a soulful declaration of love for Paris, would Taylor grace the city with her presence once more for yet another groundbreaking event?

Will Taylor Swift Attend the 2024 Paris Olympics?

So far, neither Taylor Swift nor her team have confirmed her presence at the upcoming Olympics in Paris. However, the singer-songwriter noticeably has a day off from her Eras tour on the opening date of the Summer Games, as well as the closing date. While this date overlap might be a mere coincidence, it’s led to speculations that the star has a performance slated on said day at the Olympics Opening ceremony.

The 2024 Paris Olympics kicks off on Friday, July 26, with an opening ceremony along the Seine River in the heart of Paris, marking the first time in history the ceremony would not take place in a stadium. During this time, Taylor Swift would be wrapped up in the German stop of her Eras tour, performing seven shows across the country.

She commenced the German tour with two shows on Tuesday, July 23, and Wednesday, July 24, at Volksparkstadion in Hamburg. She has her show schedules free for Thursday and Friday, before jetting off to Munich, Germany for her concerts on July 27 and July 28, at the Olympiastadion München. With the gaps between her Eras tour performance days, Taylor Swift could seamlessly make a brief stop in Paris in time for the historic Olympics opening ceremony on Friday, if she had the Summer Games in the cards.

She accomplished a similar feat earlier this year, making it in time for her February 11 Super Bowl performance just hours after taking the stage in Tokyo. Additionally, with the 2024 Paris Olympics extending through August 11, Taylor Swift indeed has more opportunities to grace the Games, either as a spectator, or a performer. While the star would end the European leg of her Eras tour officially on August 20, it is worth mentioning that she has several days off between July 26 and August 11, availing her numerous opportunities to make a Paris stop.

Although Taylor Swift has yet to publicly respond to the wild debate surrounding her Olympics appearance, she has displayed her support for the US team on occasions. Back in 2021, the Cruel Summer star dedicated a video tribute to Simone Biles after the gymnast withdrew from the Tokyo Olympics. In the touching ode set to the theme song, This Is Me Trying, Taylor showcased all of Simone’s notable accomplishments, hailing her as a “hero.”

She spotlighted Simone Biles’ greatness again in June 2024, reacting to a video of the gymnast doing her floor routine via X. In the post, showing Simone doing her routine in tune to Taylor’s Ready for It track during her US Olympics trials, the singing diva wrote,

“Watched this so many times and still unready. She’s ready for it tho.”

Simone Biles ultimately made the cut following the trials, joining the U.S. women’s gymnastics team for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Taylor also lent her voice to a trailer spotlighting Suni Lee and Jade Carey in 2021 and has supported the Women’s polo team. With Taylor’s history of turning up for the girls in her own rights over the years, having her support them in Paris with her physical presence this time would certainly make a wild statement.
